Public Health Impact Network (PHIN)
Mission
The Public Health Impact Network (PHIN) is an organization dedicated to promoting holistic well-being and fostering a culture of service within the campus and greater community. Through meaningful collaboration, advocacy, and education, they aim to create a connected and informed network of students and professionals. By prioritizing wellness, service, and teamwork, PHIN empowers individuals to make a positive impact in their lives, their communities, and the field of public health.
Who We Are
The Public Health Impact Network (PHIN) is a student-led organization open to all students interested in creating a change through holistic wellness and public health efforts-no matter their major. From engaging in community service, collaborative events, advocacy and health education, PHIN offers a variety of opportunities for student involvement.
Founded in 2024, PHIN started as a small group that consisted of only 11 executive board members and our faculty advisor from the Department of Public Health Education, Suzanne Hunt. Currently, PHIN still maintains the same executive board structure and has a total of 129 active members.
PHIN aims to:
- Expand community service and outreach efforts both on-and-off UNCG’s campus
- Strengthen partnerships with faculty and public health professionals
- Increase student engagement through interactive programming and advocacy initiatives
- Provide professional development and networking opportunities for its members
- Enhance awareness of what public health is, future career opportunities and the interdisciplinary, collaborative approach that engages and supports a variety of disciplines.
