UNC Greensboro’s Ph.D. Program in Community Health Education emphasizes community-engaged research in public health and health education. Specific attributes of the program include:
Our approach to research and teaching/learning in this doctoral program should accelerate the translation of new knowledge into practice in other ways as well. For example, findings generated by research teams (students, faculty, community partners) will have immediate implications for improving the undergraduate and master’s curricula that prepare practitioners.
Students work closely with faculty members and community partners to design and implement research studies designed to facilitate the resolution of public health outcomes that are important to the community and the field.
Program requirements are designed to prepare students, both academically and professionally, to conduct and disseminate rigorous research and to teach in academic settings.
