Paige Hall Smith is Full Professor of Public Health Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Beginning in 2005 Dr. Smith became Director of the Center for Women’s Health and Wellness (CWHW) at UNCG. She received her doctorate in Health Behavior and Health Education, with a minor in epidemiology, from the Gillings Global School of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill in 1993; she received her MSPH in Health Policy and Administration also from UNC in 1986.

As director of UNCG’s Center for Women’s Health and Wellness, Dr. Smith’s work focuses on developing an interdisciplinary and collaborative research and scholarship program on the health, wellness and quality of life of women, girls and the LGBTQI populations.

She was the Linda Arnold Carlisle Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies for 2004-2006. This professorship launched her research on the connections between breastfeeding and feminism and lead to initiation of the Breastfeeding and Feminism International Conference.
